Having trouble finding secure bike parking downtown? The Vancouver City Centre Bike Valet is back for another summer to help you safely store your bike or personal mobility device while you enjoy events, shop at local businesses, or explore the city!
This bike valet is being provided in partnership between Cadillac Fairview, TransLink, the City of Vancouver, the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, and delivered by BEST (Better Environmentally Sound Transportation).
Bike valets help reduce carbon emissions, free up space from cars downtown, and keep people active during the summer. Located inside the old Nordstrom building right outside Vancouver-City Centre SkyTrain Station, this free service will operate seven days a week from June 17 to Sept. 2, 2024, during the following times:
- Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Weekend & Statutory Holidays: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- From 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. on the following dates for Summer Movie Nights:
- July 4, 11, 18, 25
- August 1, 8, 15
How the Bike Valet Works
Ride your bike to the Bike Valet inside the old Nordstrom building, and we’ll take care of the rest. Just like a coat-check, onsite staff will add a tag to your bike and provide you with a claim stub. Enjoy your day downtown, and bring back your stub when you want your bike returned. The Bike Valet is not limited to bicycles – we’ll accept other mobility devices such as cargo bikes and e-bikes!
Please note: The Vancouver-City Centre Bike Valet will have a capacity of 100 bikes/devices at a time. Bikes can only be left at the Bike Valet during operating hours and must be collected by the owner before closing. Bikes and other devices left overnight will be removed at the owner’s risk and unclaimed bikes and devices left after operating hours will be retained at the premises, but their security cannot be guaranteed. Retrieval can be arranged by contacting bikevalet@best.bc.ca within 24 hours; however, a retrieval fee may be payable by patrons seeking the return of their unclaimed devices.
The valet will also offer sustainable transportation resources, including City of Vancouver pocket maps, TransLink’s Regional Cycling Maps, as well on-site registration for Project 529, a program designed to reduce bike theft and recover stolen bicycles.
